Red Wing is among nearly 30 percent of communities in Minnesota that have organized garbage and recycling collection services coordinated or provided by a public entity. Instead of being dumped in a landfill, garbage collected by the city is delivered to the City’s Solid Waste Campus where it is sorted and processed into fuel for electricity generation.
